Itinary

Day 1 Taxi collects you from your door taking you to meet the coach and we travel from Holyhead for the early afternoon conventional ferry crossing to Dublin, make the short journey north of the city for our overnight accommodation at the Regency Hotel.

Day 2 This morning leave Dublin and travel north via Cavan to admire the great lakes which dominate the Co. Fermagh landscape, scattered with islands and adorned with breathtaking forest parks. Take a break for lunch at Enniskillen, home of the Royal Fusiliers. Travel along the shores of Lough Erne, where nestling on the banks of the Lough is Belleek, home of Ireland's oldest pottery where You can observe how this legendary basket weave china is handcrafted. Arrive at the Central Hotel in the very heart of Donegal, Your base for the next three nights.

Day 3 Free day in Donegal (fort of the foreigners') with an opportunity to visit the castle, abbey or magees home of Donegal hand-woven tweeds, for the afternoon why not enjoy a cruise around Donegal bay - weather permitting!! All the attractions of this day are within walking distance of the hotel.

Day 4 A full day excursion through the jewel of County Donegal, the Glenveagh National Park where the plants and trees of a formal manor meet with the wilder side of nature to spectacular effect. We travel to Glenties and pass through the Blue Stack mountains, across the Gweebarra Bridge to Dungloe, famous for the Mary of Dungloe Festival which is held every year at the end of July. Kincasslagh-a small gaeltacht village in the heart of roses and the birth place of Daniel O'Donnell, is worthy for a detour of his fans. We then travel beneath the Derryveagh Mountains, to Dunlewv, beautifullv situated at the foot of Mount Errigal overlooking the Lake lonad Cois Locher provides a fascinating insight into the area before visiting the Glenveagh National Park Visitors Centre. Although coaches are allowed no further than the visitors centre, a complimentary bus service to the castle and gardens is available with stunning views of the glen. We then rejoin the main road through Letterkenny and Ballybofey.

Day 5 Leaving Donegal today, travel across the border into Northern lreland and over to the mighty Giants Causeway. Intense volcanic activity created this unique landscape of intricately shaped basalt columns, but more romantic legends tells of the Giant Finn Mac. Cool who laid these stones as a path across the sea to his lady love in Scotland. Following lunch, travel along the Antrim coast road built in the 1800's to provide employment for famine stricken workers, passing the spectacular scenery centred round the 9 Glens of Antrim. Overnight accommodation is on the coast at the Ballygally Castle.

Day 6 After breakfast, we head south to Belfast for the midday fast ferry sailing to Stranraer and onward journey home.
