The Rutland Hotel

Itinary

Day 1 Mornlng departure travelling to Heysham
and the 3.5 hour crossing with the Isle of Man
Steam Packet Co. Ferry. We arrive in Douglas early
evening followed by a few minutes drive to the
hotel arriving in time for our evening meal.

Day 2 A day at leisure in the Island capital,
Douglas. The Victorian resort is made up of
continuous promenades extending along the total
length of the bay. Visitors can either walk the
promenade or take a horse drawn tram along the
front. The town has a fine shopping centre,
restaurants and many of other places of interests.

Day 3 We follow the T.T. course to St Johns
known as 'Tynwald Hill', home of the Manx
Parliament, the oldest parliament in the world,
established by vikings a 1000 years ago. We
continue to Peel where mystery and suspense
prevail, as you learn the secrets of Peel Castle,
which sits ceremonously at the entrance to the
harbour. We then visit Royal Raimey, a thriving
market town set in the foothill's of North Barrule.

Day 4 We travel to the south of the island where,
to ensure a pleasant visit, you must remember to
'greet the little people' - "laa mie' (good day!) as
we cross the Fairy Bridge near Stanton Station. We
visit Cregneash Village where tiny whitewashed cottages under thatched roofs await your inspection.
Sheep, hens and other farm animals wander undisturbed by the visitors. The farmworkers are dressed
in traditional costume!! We finish at Port Erin with a stroll along the glorious sandy beaches.

Day 5 We depart after breakfast for the morning sailing from Douglas to Heysham.
